Gators getting ready for another title run

There will be no Heisman slump for Tim Tebow. He has plenty of new weapons to choose from including an improved Chris Rainey and Emanuel Moody. Save the date for another Florida Gators national title game.

Man crush, Heisman Trophies and title games

I wouldn’t consider myself a fortune teller, but I have a good feeling that I will be watching my beloved Florida Gators in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game. Luckily I was in Las Vegas when I had the same feeling about the 2006 Gators. That feeling ended up paying for that trip.
Anyway, back to next year’s team. Can you say man crush. Yes, I may have the slightest man crush on Tim Tebow. Yes, I may have harmlessly stalked him after the Capital One Bowl game. Yes, he was nice enough to take a photo with me. Yes, I may have made a 16 x 20 inch photo collage out of the picture we took together. I think I am getting away from the point. The point is, Tebow is the best player in college football. In 2007, Tebow became the first underclassman to win the Heisman Trophy. While I don’t think he will run as much next season, he will have more yards through the air. Former USC running back Emmanuel Moody should get most of the carries in 2008. Moody should open up the passing game even more.
Look for wide outs Percy Harvin and Cornelius Ingram to put up big numbers in ’08. Actually, I think Harvin will win next season’s Heisman Trophy. With the addition of Moody, I don’t think defenses will be able to focus on Harvin, not that it did them much good in ‘07.
Oh yeah, the defense will be a year older and hopefully better. Look for several star recruits to start immediately on defense.
The Gators will simply have to outscore all of their opponents in ‘08.
See you in Miami on January 8th.
Here is a list of several key recruits:

Will Hill: WR/RB/DB -- 6-3/203
Carl Moore: WR -- 6-4/220
Matt Patchan: OL -- 6-7/265
Brendan Beal: LB -- 6-4/235
Janoris Jenkins: DB -- 5-11/180
Dee Finley: DB -- 6-3/210
Omarius Hines: WR -- 6-1/180
Ricky Barnum: OL -- 6-2/246
Jeremy Brown: DB -- 5-10/163
Jeffrey Demps: RB -- 5-8/162
